Day 51 - Core Synergistics

Success! Last summer travel was the downfall of my 78 day p90x streak. Not so this time around though! I was back in New Hampshire the last 4 days visiting my family and I didn't miss a workout. Thursday was Kempo X with my sister which was a total blast. She's always been a talker so we chatted and joked through the whole workout. During the high sword-low hammer punches, Tony has us saying "In the head, in the gut" repeatedly. My sister is only 4'10" so instead she was laughing and declaring "In the neck, in the groin!" over and over. She did really well throughout the whole workout - I think that's the result of growing up with 4 brothers.

I also got in 2 Ab Ripper X workouts, Legs & Back (using the bands), a long bike ride with my dad, and a hike. Eating healthy was harder than getting in the workouts. Every meal my mom makes is centered around a large portion of meat - be it burgers for dinner, cheese steaks for lunch, or sausage for breakfast. Everything else is just an accompaniment for said meat. Even so, I was able to do pretty good this weekend. I found her stash of fruits and vegetables and helped myself to those liberally.

Progress updates:
I did 16 pull-ups last night (and that was wearing jeans and not being warmed up). I'm going to be really close to that 20. Winnie is also down to 119 pounds and couldn't be happier. On top of that, her arms are getting huge which she reminds us both of with her frequent flexing :)

We're in the rest week of phase II. This afternoon is core synergistics. Neither of us are thrilled to do it but banging it out shouldn't be a problem.
