This morning was Plyo X which wasn't nearly as miserable as last week. And tomorrow is Back & Biceps day which will mark the halfway point. Then I'm heading out of town for a long weekend starting tomorrow night. I'm bringing the power-bands with me to do the one heavy workout that I won't be able to do without my dumbbells. This trip will be a good test of my dedication considering that it was travel that derailed my first P90x Experience.
I've picked up a couple workout gadgets over the last month which I now have enough experience with to write about. The first is the official stands for my Bowflex dumbbells. I splurged and dropped the 130 bucks on these which I'm thrilled with. I was lugging those heavy f*ckers back and forth across our office every workout and it was only a matter of time before I threw out my back or gave myself a hernia. So no regrets with that purchase. The other investment was in a set of Perfect Pushups - those rotating push-up bars. The verdict: they work awesome and I hate them. My wrists are much more comfortable but now I do significantly fewer push-ups because of how much deeper they let me go. I highly recommend them.
Even though I've known Winnie for a long time, she continues to surprise (and impress) me with how dirty her mind is. She has made these videos entertaining again because she can find subliminal sexual innuendos in everything. Some or more obvious than others. Most recently we laughed at Tony's explanation of how to properly "jack it" during a set of jumping jacks.
Mid-point results:
- I'm up to 14 pullups. I think I can still make it to 20 by the end if I work hard.
- I'm down to 141 pounds. I've lost 6-7 pounds doing this which I didn't do during my first time through P90x. And keep in mind that I was only around 9-10% body fat when I started this thing.
- I just had my first hockey game in over a month and HOLY SHIT! I have never skated faster or harder in my life. I just have a jump in my step that I never had before - I can't even describe it. My hockey stick even feels lighter in my hands.
- I'm definitely more cut than I was before. Pictures coming very soon...
